"Professional Expertise turns into Excellent Service"

The Philippine Institute of CPAs – Qatar Chapter stands for. It is the youngest PICPA Chapter in the Middle East Region that was established by group of Filipino CPAs and Accountants working in various industries such as auditing and consulting services, financial services, communications, trade, and construction.

It all started on 26th August 2007 when an e-mail from Mr. Lyndon Magsino of KPMG circulated inviting fellow CPAs in Qatar to help organize the PICPA-Qatar Chapter.

PICPA- Qatar Chapter

In just three weeks, it obtained the required number of CPAs to form a PICPA chapter when 22 Filipino CPAs have signed up as Founding Members on 13th September 2007.

By 4th of October 2007, the 1st General Assembly was held and 12 members were elected as Council Members/Officers to lead the Chapter’s activities such as professional development programs and seminars.

On 10th of October, the founding members and officers gathered once again to furnish the Application Process completing the required documentation for submission to PICPA Manila. The day after that, PICPA-Qatar obtained the Philippine Embassy recognition.

During the week of Eid Al Fitr holiday, the founding of PICPA Qatar Chapter was published in local circulation such as Gulf Times and The Peninsula, and in the websites of Qatar Living and Filipino Expats Qatar.

On 24th October, another General Assembly was held. This time more members responded to the invitation to join the organization.

This was also the time when the Academic and Non-Academic Committees were formed to handle different activities of the Chapter, 1st of which is the planning for the momentous PICPA-QATAR Launching.

A series of meetings among the Non-academic Committee and Officers followed with the aim of bringing the dream of formally introducing the youngest PICPA Chapter in the Middle East a “reality”.

At that time, it has around 50 members and expecting to increase before year end. The Chapter adheres to the highest ideals of professionalism and commitment to service and upholds such values as – Integrity, Professional Excellence, Innovation, Discipline, Teamwork, Social Responsibility and Commitment.

Its mission is to enhance the integrity of the accounting profession, serve the best interest of its members and contribute to the attainment of the country’s national objectives.
