As Overseas Filipino Workers, it is essential that we are aware of the available mechanism and policies of the Philippine Government that would protect our freedoms and rights while working abroad. One such legislation is the Migrant Worker’s and Overseas Filipinos Act of 1995, an act that institutes the policies of overseas employment and establishes a higher standard of protection and promotion of the welfare of migrant workers, their families and overseas Filipinos in distress.
